Upcoming 2008 Community Leadership Conferences *This year we are holding conferences in Los Angeles, Boston, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle. Designed to foster collaboration within the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community, the conferences will provide an opportunity to discuss issues facing the AAPI community-locally and nationally, with leadership training provided to support the community leader's ability to address these key organizational and community issues.   All 2008 Community Leadership Conferences are sponsored by State Farm Insurance Companies.

Executive Directors Leadership Program (EDLP) Graciously sponsored by:          LEAP is pleased to announce the second annual Executive Directors Leadership Program (EDLP), a 6-month experiential and interactive program designed to give executive directors the knowledge and skills they need to effectively lead and propel their organizations forward as well as the opportunity to build supportive relationships with their peers, experienced executive directors, nonprofit consultants, and funders.  Key lessons will be reinforced and individual needs will be addressed through a 6-month one-on-one coaching process. Honoring New Asian American and Pacific Islander Leaders David R. Barclay Alumni Leadership Award Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics, Inc. (LEAP) is proud to establish the David R. Barclay Leadership Award to honor the memory of David Barclay, a past LEAP Board member, trainer, consultant, advisor and volunteer.  This Leadership Award will be presented annually to a LEAP program alumni or alumnae who exemplifies, through his/her professional or community involvement, the values that David Barclay was committed to:  equal opportunity, social justice, diversity and inclusion, integrity and servant leadership. Nominees for the David R. Barclay Leadership Award may be nominated by LEAP’s corporate, community and higher education partners along with the LEAP Board, staff and selection committee. The recipient of this Leadership Award will be honored at the LEAP Leadership Awards Dinner and will receive, in addition to a commemorative award, a stipend for herself/himself or a designee of her/his choice to enroll in one of LEAP’s leadership programs or to have LEAP conduct a one-day U.S. based workshop for an organization of the recipient’s choosing.
