Leadership Development Program

Register Now: Click HERE

The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an integrated experiential curriculum designed to explore the responsibilities and challenges of the workplace from an AAPI cultural lens and helps participants develop their own paths to leadership positions. It is designed for AAPI employees of leading global organizations in project management to mid level management positions.

Unlike traditional executive education programs, the intensive, interactive five-day program Leadership Development Program is made specifically for the values and needs of AAPI leaders. It helps participants realize differences between Asian and mainstream American business culture and helps them bridge the gap while retaining their Asian values. AAPI employees will come out of the program with the understanding, self-confidence and tools to take action and determine their own route to professional, leadership and career success.

Since 1989, over 125 corporations have sent over 2500 participants to this innovative program. Four programs are held annually in Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY.

This program can be customized to an organization's needs. For the past nine years, IBM has engaged LEAP to deliver the Leadership Development Program specifically for their high potential Asian American and Pacific Islander employees. Please contact Linda Akutagawa to discuss a similar customized solution for your organization's needs.

Special Features:

  • Only leadership development program designed by and for AAPIs.
  • Safe environment for AAPIs to discuss and address issues and challenges facing Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders openly and honestly.
  • Examination of impact of cultural values on perceptions and behaviors.
  • Involvement and interaction with leading AAPI corporate executives.
  • Application of experiential learning concepts that impact performance.
  • 360-degree feedback assessment and comprehensive report.
  • Participation in a complex leadership and team problem solving simulation.
  • Networking with AAPI participants representing multiple functions, industries and sectors.

See for yourself what the LDP alumni have to say about the Leadership Development Program.

"The experience was profound. I expected it to be just like another week in training. But it exceeded that expectation many times. It was the only week in the past seven years (my stay in the U.S.) that taught me how to be comfortable in this adopted country. It was the only week in my two years at IBM that made me truly understand what diversity is and how it can help all of us grow. It provided me with that missing element that enables me to be at ease while walking across the street to speak to my neighbor. I can say, I came out of LEAP with a different level of confidence."
